About the role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and proactive Building Works Planner to join our Building Asset Management & Special Projects team. This is an excellent opportunity to use your industry experience in building facilities management, engineering, building construction and project management skills in a role that has professional challenge and satisfaction. You will be responsible for maintaining current and accurate building asset management databases, involved in the provision of building advice, condition assessments and Work Planning by undertaking site inspections on Council buildings and assist with the development of annual Capital Works Program and associated project briefs.

Duties include:

  • Maintain current and accurate data in Council's asset management & strategic asset management systems;
  • Collect & collate strategic asset data relating to performance, function & capacity of buildings;
  • Monitor the safety & compliance of Council owned building assets & structures;
  • Monitor and report by working collaboratively towards the delivery outcomes of the annual capital works program;
  • Prepare documentation and approvals for review of environmental factors;
  • Assist with the development of programmed, cyclic and planned maintenance activities and schedules, including development & preparation of project briefs;
  • Prepare scope of works / specifications for a variety of projects;
  • Provide design advice / infrastructure advice to internal & external stakeholders;
  • Participate in developing & executing service level agreements;
  • Develop, implement & review standard operating procedures & processes;
  • Program, manage & coordinate the delivery of special projects;
  • Assist with determining the best building approval process and in the general management of building portfolio.

About you:

To be considered for this role you will have:

  1. Degree qualifications in Building Facilities Management, Engineering, Building Construction, Project Management or equivalent suitable & recognised industry qualifications;
  2. Extensive experience, understanding & working knowledge of building operations & maintenance;
  3. Strong understanding of asset management - scopes, specifications, procurement, estimating & basic construction, including strong knowledge & understanding of Building Services (Hard & Soft);
  4. Proven demonstrated experience in the supervision of contractors against SLA & KPIs;
  5. Demonstrated ability to preparing & reviewing Scopes of Works, Fundamental of Project Management / Project Management Administration;
  6. White Card - General Construction Induction;
  7. Class C Motor Vehicle Licence.
