About the role:

The purpose of this role is to lead a team involved in a variety of tasks associated with the maintenance of Council's Civil Infrastructure including the cleansing and collection of waste from public spaces.

Duties include:

  • Coordinate, supervise and carry out works to maintain Council's civil infrastructure assets including roads, footpaths, kerb and gutter, drainage and any other infrastructure within the public domain
  • Assist in the delivery of maintenance programs and activities across all of Council's infrastructure asset classes
  • Respond to planned and reactive maintenance requests
  • Removal of orphan waste (including asbestos) and cleaning up of sites
  • Public place cleaning and waste collection
  • Operate plant or equipment including driving a truck and towing a plant trailer
  • Monitor work to ensure it is completed to an acceptable standard
  • Day to day management of the team and associated work tasks
  • Provide mentoring and coaching to team members
  • Maintain team engagement and facilitate a culture that reflects the corporate values
  • Recommend process improvements and enhancements
  • Assist in the training of new team members
  • Assist with maintenance of standard operating procedures and processes

About you:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  1. Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
  2. Higher School Certificate
  3. Drivers Licence (Class MR) - NSW
  4. White Card - General Construction Induction
