About the role:

There is an opportunity for a Ranger (Parking Officer) within The Hills Shire Councils Development and Compliance Group. The primary function of this role is to provide an efficient and effective regulatory and enforcement service with respect to matters relating to the Roads Act and Australian Road Rules.

This position has a 7 day rotational roster, inclusive of attending to after-hours callouts, as and when required. You may be required to work and/or be on call over Council's shut down period over Christmas/New Year.

About you:

To be considered for this role you will be an experienced ranger and will possess:

  • Certificate IV (Ranger) in Local Government or relevant discipline or equivalent relevant industry experience
  • High level of conflict management skills
  • Sound knowledge of court procedures
  • Sound knowledge of the Local Government Act, Companion Animals Act, Impounding Act and Australian Road Rules
  • Knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, the Protection of the Environment Operations Act, and other Acts /legislation
  • Current Class C Motor Vehicle Drivers Licence
