ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICER (TRAINEE)

An opportunity exists for a motivated and eager to learn individual to join our Environment and Health Team.

This position will allow a Trainee Environmental Health Officer to gain experience and training in the evaluation, investigation, research, documentation and reporting on environmental and public health issues. This position will also assist with the promotion of environmental and public health standards and compliance under the relevant legislation including the Food Act 2008, Public Health Act 2010 and Local Government Act 1993 within the Shire.

The successful applicant will share our organisations commitment to providing value to our customers, approaching tasks enthusiastically and working collaboratively with their team.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be undertaking tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health, Environmental Science or similar discipline
  • Be understanding of matters relating to Environmental Health
  • Be passionate for the environment and public health
  • Be a team player contributing to achieving team measures
  • Have a current C Class Motor Vehicle Drivers Licence

This is a temporary full-time role (35 hours per week) - Position No. S0198
Salary: $54,000 pa + Superannuation
