An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Forward Planning Team in contributing to the overall planning and management of development and growth in The Hills.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Town Planner who will undertake research and prepare policies and professional reports in relation to strategic and regulatory planning matters.
The role has an impact upon the future growth and development of the Hills Shire community through the delivery of planning policy at a local scale, including the Local Strategy, Precinct Planning, Local Environmental Plans, Development Control Plans and planning for appropriate levels of services and infrastructure to accommodate future communities.
This role works within the Shire Strategy, Transformation and Solutions Group and provides support to the Manager Forward Planning in the carrying out of Council's Forward Planning functions. The successful candidate will have:
- Qualification in Town Planning or related field such as Economics, Architecture, Environmental Science, Geography or similar, and/or 0-3 years' experience in a similar role
- Knowledge and understanding of town planning and urban design, recreation and social planning, land development, project management, strategic analysis and interpretation, research and documentation
- Proven communication, problem and conflict solving skills
- Class C Motor Vehicle Licence
There are 2 x temporary full-time roles available (35 hours per week)
Position No. P250B - Salary Range: $74,530 - $78,479 pa + Superannuation
