An opportunity exists for a motivated and engaging individual to join our Rates Team who will be responsible for administrating Councils rates related activities.

We are seeking a Rating Officer who has a minimum of 3 years local Government experience in a similar role who shares our organisations commitment to providing value to our customers and working collaboratively with their team.
This role works within the Finance and Organisational Performance Team. You will be responsible for processing, monitoring and administering Councils Rates, effectively, efficiently and accurately. You will be responsible for internal and external customer enquiries, rating advice and debt recovery in line with Council policy and procedures. The successful candidate will have:
- Higher School Certificate
- Minimum 3 + years' Local Government experience in a similar role
- Experience with debt collection is preferred
- Experience with supplementary rates is desirable
- Working knowledge of legislation pertaining to Local Government rating
- Well-developed organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail
- Demonstrated experience working under pressure, dealing with both sensitive and confidential information
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
This is a permanent full-time role. 35 hours per week
Salary Range: $71,119 - $83,685 pa + Superannuation
